Senate Finance Committed Chaired by Baucus Votes
to prevent healthcare bill from being posted online 72 hours before any vote. Why the
secrecy?
Rick Nelson
Late last evening, the Senate Finance committee, chaired by Senator Max Baucus
voted down a provision that would require their version of the healthcare bill to be posted online 72 hours
prior to any vote. Republicans, who were unanimously in support of posting the bill online so that the
public could be informed, werre joined by Senator Blance Lincoln (D). The 12 other Democrats voted to
maintain the secrecy of the bill.
So Baucus uses the HHS to fiercly attack opponents of the bill and then spearheads the
opposition to a proposal to let the American people know what is in the bill. This veil of secrecy must be
lifted. What are they hiding in the details of the bill? Some of them have the audacity to say that it
is too complex and filled with legal jargon. So they are saying we are too ignorant to
comprehend!
Call and email the senators on this committee that voted against transparency and for
secrecy. They work for you. They live on your dime. Let them know that the sleeping giant is wide
awake and ready to kick butt and take names.

Also let Olympia Snowe that she needs to
finally forget about her longing for the camera and attention and for once do the right thing and hold her
opposition to the bill. She typically holds out for a long time and then votes with the liberals in the
spirit of bipartianship. She is the most infamous RINO (Republican in name only) and has no use for
conservative values and principles. Her professional caree has been in the Senate and has no real world
experience in anything. She is the consumate professional politician who will sell out the American people if
she can become one of the "key" votes that determine the outcome of controvercial legislation. It is time for
Republicans to cut her loose from important committee assignments. A janitorial committee would be just fine
with me.
